Full phone intelligence: libphonenumber-js parsing, line-type classification (mobile / fixed / VOIP / freephone), carrier lookup, ported-number detection, and optional OTP delivery via SMS. VOIP and virtual number ranges are flagged as medium-risk signals for synthetic identity detection.

Frequently asked questions

Does the SMTP check send an email?

No. The check sends an RCPT TO probe without completing the SMTP transaction — no message is ever delivered. Many large providers (Google, Microsoft) block SMTP probing; in those cases we return an 'unverifiable' verdict rather than an error.

Which phone countries are supported?

Parsed with libphonenumber-js, Google's open-source phone number library. Carrier data is built into the library — zero API cost for format validation and line-type classification.
